Every once in a while, some journalist somewhere hears about one of the many ideas on how to simplify spelling, and is amazed. For shits and giggles, they use the new spelling to some extent in their article, making it damn near impossible for many to understand. Some time passes, and then some journalist somewhere hears…

(I’ve realized I read things like that pretty much the same way I read Danish: I just keep my speed and sort of articulate the pronunciation in my head. Then I can hear what I’m reading, instead of having to decipher every word as it is written.)
